Jump Ring Cutting Jig – Now U.S. Patented!

✨ Precision Jump Ring Cutter for Jewelers – Patented Coil Cutting Tool

Now officially granted U.S. Patent No. 12,343,810. Cut jump rings like a pro with our Missouri-built jig — trusted by jewelers, chainmaille artists, and wire wrappers for its clean, consistent coil cuts from 2.5mm to 11mm. Designed by a jeweler, this innovative tool brings professional-grade results to your bench.

🔹 Watch It in Action:

🔹 Choose Your Setup:

  • Jig with Holder (Most Popular): Includes the patented jig + stainless steel holder. Bench-mounted for hands-free precision.
  • Bench Pin Version: Fits most 5/8" or larger bench pins (not included). Ideal for jewelers with an existing bench setup.

🔹 How It Works:

📋 See our Quick Start Guide below — just 4 easy steps to clean, repeatable coil cuts:

  1. Tape the coil (especially for multiple cuts).
  2. Lube your saw blade and set the coil onto the blade.
  3. Place the coil and blade in the jig, insert the guide pin.
  4. Hold the brass top plate firmly and saw down into rings.

🔹 Why It’s Great:

  • Now U.S. Patented – engineered for jewelers by a jeweler
  • Delivers smooth, accurate cuts for 2.5mm–11mm coils
  • Securely supported during use — choose the included holder or your own bench pin
  • Simple two-hand operation: hold the guide plate and saw smoothly into the coil
  • Built in Missouri, USA by Elkhorn Silver®

🔹 Key Features:

  • Materials: Brass and hardwood jig; stainless steel holder (Jig with Holder only)
  • Dimensions: 6" long jig, 1.5”x1.5” saw guide, coil capacity: 2.5mm–11mm
  • Compatibility: Bench Pin Version fits 5/8”+ bench pins

This thing does the trick. I have tried every single different way to cut jump rings so that 1) it’s fast, 2) yields jump rings without burrs, 3) not awkward to hold. I have a $800 jump ring cutter that is so complicated I’m not even entirely sure I’m using it right. This little jig here is exactly what I needed. Nothing cuts jump rings smoother than a saw blade, but it takes such an insufferably long time to cut jump rings by hand. If you’re doing something like chainmaille, you’ll be cutting jump rings for the rest of your life trying to get enough. One of the reasons it takes so long is because a coil is such an awkward thing to hold and cut. This jig takes care of that problem. Instead of fighting the coil, the jig holds it in place and all you have to do is saw. It’s perfect. I think it’s a little overpriced, but it works.
