From Frustration to Innovation – Chris’s Story
“There has to be an easier way!”

Meet Chris – jewelry maker, problem-solver, and the inventor of the Elkhorn Silver® Jump Ring Cutting Jig. Every jig is inspired by real studio frustrations and years of hands-on experience.
For years, Chris struggled to cut jump rings using a traditional bench pin. Like many makers, he dealt with slipping coils, awkward hand positions, and blades that caught mid-cut. After scouring the internet for a better solution and finding nothing that met his standards, he decided to build his own.
Through dozens of prototypes and hands-on testing in our Missouri studio, the Elkhorn Silver® Jump Ring Cutting Jig came to life — a tool designed for ergonomic comfort, precision cuts, and ease of use without strain.
Once we started sharing it with fellow jewelers and chainmaille artists, the response was immediate: people were thrilled to finally have a tool that “just works.”
Give it a try — you’ll see the difference for yourself.
